How Does A Solar Panel Work?

In researching the topic of “How does a solar panel”, we find contradictory information on how energy is produced by the panels and the cells themselves. A number of solar cells should be connected in series to achieve a usable voltage for use with a storage device or electric.

The electricity generated by the panel is a direct current (DC) that is usually identified by their negative and positive terminals. As also has a battery positive and negative terminals, the cells operate in a similar manner.

In a serial connection, two cells, which have 4 terminals (2 positive and negative 2) may become a larger cell when you simply connect negative to 1 on the positive (positive to negative and vice versa). What remains is just one negative and one positive, but the tension of the two panels (0.5V + 0.5V = 1V) were added. Two cells have become larger cell. Similarly, when you have 12 cells in series can be simply connected by connecting all the positive and negative aspects that will end no matter what you do with just one negative and one positive at both ends.

In a parallel connection, the same two cells, which have 4 terminals (2 positive and negative 2) are wired differently. One positive terminal is connected to a negative terminal 1-1 positive and negative (positive to positive and negative to negative). Both cells have not become a big solar cell instead began to work together to amplify the current, measured in amperes (A). Here we can probably say that two son became a great thread, in this case, two positive have become a large positive advantage and the same goes for the negative child. Parallel connections are used only when it has reached the target voltage over a series connected solar cells. A series of 36 cells can generate about 18V (36 x 0.5 = 18V) and 18V this is the ideal for charging a 12V battery voltage. If you want to charge quickly, you have to add more solar cells but must keep the same voltage (18V), and it is therefore necessary to connect the next set of solar cells in a (positive to positive and negative to negative) parallel.

If you connect three groups of solar cells connected “in series”, it is called a connection to 3 strings of solar cells and the 3 channels is called a solar module or modules. It becomes a solar panel integrated when all other components such as the chassis, the backsheet, the glass cover and the junction box.

A solar panel in turn can be connected to another solar panel also in series or parallel depending on the design of the photovoltaic system. Several series-connected solar panels, said panels 12, also considered a chain when connected in parallel to another channel or more other channels. Several strings of solar panels are then called a matrix or sun.

Importantly, in a series arrangement, the voltage (V) and then added in a parallel arrangement, AMPS (A) increases. Voltage multiplied by the amplifier results in determining Watts (VXA = W)

At this point, you should be able to understand the relationship of small solar cells on its larger counterpart, the solar panel. If you can build a solar panel, then in principle, you can also build a large solar panel equivalent to a solar power plant.

Everything depends on you to buy solar cells, but make sure you ask the right amount based on the solar panel to do what is something in this article will cover the latest how-to articles cells. Also be aware of the electrical output of the solar cell is important for the amount of electricity you need to get. Typically, a solar cell has a voltage of 0.5 V and its rated capacity is about 4Wp. I hope this information helps you in your search for “how a solar panel works.”

Best Tree Removal Service Salt Lake-801-326-4501-Tree Trimming Services

Best Tree Removal Service Salt Lake-801-326-4501-Tree Trimming Services
Via using trimming techniques, it is possible to form your tree to a particular style. There are seven major tree forms that have their very own advantages for certain situations. During the growth of the tree, simply remove the unnecessary branches, connect the ideal branches right into the correct shape, and also you will be able to form it nevertheless you want. Nevertheless, for some of the more advanced forms, just as advanced pruning techniques are required. There are several publications created on this subject.

Usually, if you're trying of getting your tree to a specific shape, all the connecting as well as trimming ought to happen in the fall. This will certainly urge the shape to stick, from the time no fruits will certainly be produced then in time. Each of the different shapes is very valuable in particular situations. So, here are some various kinds of shapes you have the ability to choose from.

Requirement trees rarely need any sort of explanation. These are the ranges that are most typical, and probably just what you visualize when you think about any kind of tree. No particular shaping is called for to get the form to take this kind. Just allow it go and prune it as you would generally, and unless you have an oddly deformed tree after that it need to wind up being a standard tree.

It is possible to transform a conventional tree into a bush tree via pruning. The branches take the very same shape, but the stem or trunk of the tree is significantly much shorter. This can be beneficial if you want to expand trees, however do not wish to obstruct the sight. For instance, my property has a bird's-eye view of the Rocky Hills. I didn't wish to compromise this gorgeous view, so I expanded my trees up as bush trees.

Cordons are a type of tree that you may not be familiar with. It contains one stem without branches. It is planted at an angle to make sure that it curves up over the ground. With the training course of its growth, all branches are removed. These are advantageous since they take up really percentages of space as well as even more could be fit in a specific square video footage. The only negative element is that they generate high street quantities of fruit per tree.

Espalier trees expand with a solitary vertical stem in the center, and also many horizontal branches on each side. These enable lengthy rows of trees, while still generating large quantities of fruit. If you run an orchard, you probably use this form to match as numerous trees as feasible right into the location you have.

Follower trees utilize the same theory as espalier trees. Nevertheless, the form is slightly various. The exact same main vertical stem is utilized, yet the connected branches are not horizontal; they expand in the exact same pattern as a conventional tree, only they are two dimensional instead of three dimensional. They are also made use of to conserve space, as well as are used as opposed to espalier trees for sure types of trees that do far better with sloped branches.

Another type of espalier is the step-over espalier. They are like a typical espalier, but with just one horizontal branch quite short. They are particularly fascinating due to the fact that they still create tasty fruit while offering a border for whatever you want. I have actually used step-over trees to fencing of my yard. They are certainly my favored shape of tree, primarily due to the fact that they resemble a fence that flourishes. Exactly what's not to love?

As you can view, each of these shapes has its own benefits and also negative facets also. If any one of these sounds like they would be a good fit for your garden, you can ask your local baby room employees for advice on reading product that will certainly aid you achieve your goals. The majority of the moment, obtaining the tree right into the preferred shape is an extremely easy procedure and also just calls for some assistance at the beginning.

How to Learn A New Skill

The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth I’m a big fan of the work of Dr Nick Morgan. In my circles, when people ask me advice about how to be a better professional speaker, I tell a somewhat backhanded and loving story about how I paid for a day of Dr. Morgan’s time, hellbent on having him make me a much better speaker. I loved everything he had to say. It was brilliant, full of really important details and ideas. And I couldn’t really make good use of any of it.

Dr. Morgan mentions it in this post. For instance, “The good news for you conference organizers, then, is that if you hire Chris you’ll get something largely new each time. In spite of my best efforts.”. (emphasis mine)

California Set To Give Solar Panels To Low-Income Families For Free

California is the best state in the country if you want to go solar – but only if you are rich enough. Due to the steep initial cost of $ 15,000, only the middle to high-income families can afford to install solar panels. An original initiative is, however, seeks to change that. This new project aims to help disadvantaged communities see the sun in a different light.

Using the money collected by the government to help combat global warming, GRID Alternatives project aims polluting companies to pay to put solar panels on the roofs of those who can not afford them. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the plan is to use the money from cap and trade proposed by the state of the companies that have to pay per ton of carbon dioxide emitted. The cost for disadvantaged families: nothing.

GRID Alternatives Project Manager was $ 162 million solar homes affordable individual (SASH), the first solar system in the country dedicated discounts for low-income families the project. They want to install solar panels to more than 1,600 homes by the end of next year. The use of professional programs and donations of solar companies, their goal is to keep costs as low as possible. While it is free for families to settle in their homes, it is not required that families are the supply to feed the crew or help to install the panels.

The California state government will use $ 14.7 million raised by the system of cap and trade designed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, to be used to install solar panels. In general, the system of cap and trade has totted up to an impressive $ 1.6 billion.

Plowing at least 10% of this money on solar energy, the project aims to kill two birds with one stone – low-income families to save money, while large polluters of fossil fuels contribute to the reduction of emissions for the state power even more.

Anyone who is currently living in an area in California which is classified as disadvantaged qualified to apply for the cards installed. Grid Alternatives predicts that individual households could save up to $ 1,000 a year, waiting time could be spent on other essentials such as food. The sun sets on the initiative in 2021, so if you live in the state, you may want to jump on board soon.

If You Want Your Content Marketing to be Great, Ask Influencers to Participate

participation marketing with influencers

With ubiquitous internet connectivity and billions of people empowered to create and publish online, digital marketing competition is greater than ever. Companies are increasingly challenged to create quality content that can stand out to attract and engage new customers.

How can businesses grow their reach and improve content quality in such a market?

Through participation marketing with industry influencers.

Over the past year, the expression “influencer marketing” has exploded in popularity and many marketing communications professionals are continuing to see influencers in the light of “celebrity endorsements”.

There’s more to influencer marketing than advocacy.

But there’s more to influencer marketing than advocacy and all influencers are not created equal. With participation marketing, companies can take a view of working with influencers of different types to produce a variety of benefits – all through content.

What kind of benefits? The investment in co-creation of content between brands and influencers enables quality content at scale. With brands and influencers working together, co-created content can reinforce mutual authority for all involved. In such a cooperative scenario, influencers can gain exposure, brands can reach new audiences, and customers are “info-tained” and inspired to engage. Everybody wins.

At TopRank Online Marketing, we’ve worked with over 200 influencers in the past 5 years to create numerous content assets ranging from our famous conference eBooks to videos to blog posts to infographics. These assets have driven over 800,000 views and well over 1,000 leads. Content co-created with influencers also continues to serve attract and engage objectives as long as they are live online.

Establishing a successful influencer content program requires a framework for identifying, engaging, and managing relationships. Here’s a 5 step approach to do just that.

influencer content goals

1. Set Goals for Marketing and Influencers

In order for co-created content to be successful for marketing, specific audiences and goals should be identified.

Think about: What do you hope to achieve with an influencer content program? How will influencers benefit? More importantly, how will your customers benefit?

Think about the distinct audience that you’re after with the content being co-created and set goals specific to what your idea of success looks like. Quantify those goals as well, whether it’s to increase the reach and engagement of your brand to the influencer’s community or to inspire more leads and sales by a certain percent.

Also, set goals for the influencers. For short term projects, focus on participation quality. With longer term programs, focus on participation, marketing outcomes and the relationship.

influencer content focus

2. Pick Your Theme and Focus Topic

You can start by asking, “What does your brand want to be known for?”

Themes facilitate planning content and also serve to focus the sourcing of the right influencers. Themes that are meaningful to all parties involved: brand, influencer and target audience will be far more successful.

In addition to branding goals, themes in co-created content programs are often driven by key customer questions that can be answered by brand marketing. Looking at distinct customer segments and the buying experience at each stage should reveal the themes and triggers that your content program will focus on. What is the solution? How will it work for me? What do I do next?

Consider what questions your customers are asking at awareness, consideration and purchase stages. Then think about the themes that will drive asking and answering those questions through influencer content.

identify recruit influencers

3. Find, Qualify and Recruit Influencers

Beyond the famous “brandividual” influencers in your industry, consider niche experts that have an active and passionate following. Also consider subject matter experts within your own company.

To start, talk to executives, marketing, PR and sales to identify a seed list of influencers. Then use an influencer discovery tool like Traackr or BuzzSumo to filter them out and add new influencers your team didn’t know about. Results are better when influencers matches are found on more than one tool.

When reaching out to influencers, be sure to accentuate the positive and the mutual value. Focus first on what’s in it for the influencer. If possible, find out what their goals are and see how working together can move them towards reaching those goals whether it’s overall exposure and being associated publicly with your brand or early and unique access to information.

Influencer participation pitches should be credible, succinct and offer a clear description of what is being asked.

Once a topical list of influencers is identified, they can be engaged in a variety of ways including:

  • Share their status updates on social networks
  • Comment on their blog posts or industry articles
  • Follow on social networks
  • Write about them
  • Interview them

Influencer participation pitches should be credible, succinct and offer a clear description of what is being asked. Pitches should also be very easy to act on. In other words, make it really easy to participate. For example, writing takes time, so offer to do a phone interview instead.

Other tactics that work include: humor, high degree of personalization, incentives and association with other influencers already on board.

CoCreate Influencer Content

4. Content Co-Creation is Participation Marketing

Influencer content co-creation might best begin with small, easy projects that advance the relationship to more robust and substantial time commitments.

Any content type you can create in a content marketing program can be co-created with influencers.

After content is collected from influencers, assemble, edit and package in a promotable format. Then share a preview to inspire their continued participation to promote. Be sure to set expectations by sharing your timeline for production, publishing and promotion.

Any content type you can create in a content marketing program can be co-created with influencers, from eBooks to videos to articles to social microcontent.

Measure Influencer Content

5. Promote and Measure

Provide influencers with tools such as sharing images, pre-written tweets, embed codes and short URLs. Making it easy to participate and promote can substantially increase the success of your influencer content program.

Offer influencers feedback on what’s working and what is not. Since they’ve invested in the creation of the content, it’s in their interest to see the promotion succeed.

You’ve Got This!

By partnering with influencers, marketers can tap into a wealth of knowledge and a breadth of exposure for brand messages. These are not self-promotional messages though, they are the things that the brands’ customers care about.

The mutual investment in creating useful and engaging content can pay dividends for all involved. This is especially true for the resource-strapped marketer looking to scale content quantity, while not sacrificing quality. The icing on the cake are the relationships built that can fuel content collaboration, partnerships and even new business in the future.

Four Advantages To Building New Homes

If buying a home is distressing, to build one from scratch can be downright stressful. Construction of new homes, however, offers four advantages.

Unlimited Customization

Many people would like to live in a home tailored just for them. Most do not even consider this option when a move is contemplated, as they feel it would be too expensive to build from scratch. According to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the new home median price in 2013 was $ 268,900. This is not a high price for total customization and the knowledge that a house is really yours. It is not uncommon to pay more than $ 300,000 for the property that has already been built for the needs of another person. Why pay for a house that is not fully built its own specifications when the same money or less could be spent on customizing luxury?

More efficiency

Houses not only have existing floor creak and paper waste; They come with drafty windows, power devices and ovens energy intensive. All of these problems contribute to a highly inefficient residence. This inefficiency is bound to steal the minister, either by the need to remodel or due to exorbitant energy bills.

The new houses guarantee greater efficiency. This is especially true if they are built in a neighborhood or community with a green initiative. In these communities, existing plans for new housing involve energy saving strategies. These plans may include solar panels and maximum insulation, for example.

Best Resale Value

While most builders are unlikely to sell their homes at any time in your near future, it should be noted that the resale value of new homes is higher than the older. Each custom model is unique, and each has attractive features that cookie cutter houses abound. This makes these new homes attractive and more valuable to potential buyers. If circumstances change and the sale of new construction area, it is necessary, then at least you have the consolation of being able to ask for a higher selling price.

A healthier alternative

Old houses are full of health hazards of their owners. Although potentially beautiful on the outside, these buildings often complications in their walls and hide under your plants. Pest infestation, mold, lead paint and asbestos are some serious health risks that may be associated with older homes. Building a new place on earth can guarantee that none of these health risks is next to people with mortgages.

True pride comes to building a new custom home. As evidenced above, there are many residual benefits of choosing to build rather than buy. Owners who take this path are proud to know that his home is really yours.

The Xanax-Free Approach to Relieving Anxiety on Your Landing Page

landing page friction
This is what happens when you cause anxiety on your landing pages. So stop it. Image credit: Lostateminor.com

We all know someone who isn’t willing to give away their personal information — that person who will never do banking online and thinks you’re an idiot for giving any website your name and email address, let alone your credit card number.

People using the internet already have a level of anxiety about just being online. They’re increasingly suspicious of every page they visit. They’re worried about privacy, they’re worried about having their banking information stolen and they’re worried that they’re not going to get what they pay for.

Consumers are educated about the internet, and they want reassurance that they’re dealing with a company that they can trust their information with. Your landing pages are no exception; they need to work extra hard towards reducing anxiety and building trust with consumers.

Without that trust there is no conversion.

Let’s take a look at five common mistakes that could be causing anxiety on your landing pages – and how you can avoid them.

1. You have weak message match

Imagine clicking an ad that advertises one thing, but winding up on a landing page that has little or nothing to do with that thing. What would you do? Probably panic and hit the back button!

That cognitive dissonance is caused by poor message match: a measure of how well your landing page copy matches the phrasing of the ad that brought people there.

Being promised one thing and then finding another causes anxiety and will most likely make visitors bounce.

What you can do about it

Make sure that your headline is neatly matched up with the message in your ad to reassure people that they’re in the right place. Keep the color palette and typography consistent from display ads to your landing page, and make sure to repeat the specifics of the offer.

Consider the example below by content marketing analytics tool Pathful. Their ad starts out with a simple, green color scheme, and asks whether or not you’re interested in finding out more about how content can affect your business:

ad-reduce-friction

Upon clicking, visitors are taken to this page, where they’re greeted with a nice, big headline that repeats the core message from the ad and assures them that they’re in the right place. Anyone who answered “yes” by clicking on the ad will arrive at a page that speaks directly to the expectations created by the ad.

landing-page-reduce-friction

For bonus points, Pathful should consider A/B testing an ad headline that matches their page’s headline more closely. Dead-on message match like that reassures prospects that they’ve made a “good click.”

You pay for PPC ads, so make them count. If you don’t mind your message match, you’re wasting money.

2. Your forms are too long

How much information do you need from your visitors? Do you really need 15 form fields of info in order to convince them to convert?

This form below from one of the pages we looked at on Page Fights is asking for too much from an initial contact. It may well be that they need all of that information in order to pre-qualify someone for their program, but this step could be taken later.

landing-page-form-friction

Long forms cause friction – and friction leads to anxiety.

In his epic blog post, The Most Entertaining Guide to Landing Page Optimization You’ll Ever Read, Unbounce co-founder Oli Gardner discusses the difference between perceived and actual friction.

Perceived friction might be the shock of seeing a long form and worrying that it’s going to take too much time to fill out. The solution to this issue is to either make the form shorter, or break it up so that you collect the information you need on more than one page.

Actual friction happens when physical barriers cause visitors to abandon your page. In this case, that could be the time it takes to fill in the form. Friction may also be unclear instructions or even inline form fields that disappear when you put your cursor in the field. These things confuse visitors and cause them to leave.

What you can do about it

Keep those forms short! Ask for only as much information as is necessary to begin a working relationship with your prospects. If you get their name and email address, you can start asking for a little more information with each new point of contact, starting with the first email you send them.

As always, the caveat here is that the number of form fields that’s right for your landing page will be decided by the visitors. How do they decide? You test a few different variations, and along the way, you’ll find out by which number of fields is most effective.

Who knows? You may even learn that a lengthy form and a bit of friction is an acceptable tradeoff for more qualified leads.

3. Your “facts” are not believable

You’re dealing with a savvy, educated audience who is willing to do further research if they smell something fishy.

Your landing page could have most of the elements of conversion centered design, but start spouting some questionable facts about your product and you’ll put your readers in full-on skeptic mode.

Not only will your prospects cease to trust you – people might even call you out on it, like in the image below. This “rapid hair growth” business made a few seemingly spurious claims, and a fellow has taken the time to build an entire website debunking those claims.

testimonials-gone-wild
This guy really didn’t believe this testimonial about rapid hair growth. He didn’t believe it so much that he started a website to debunk the claims.

The same applies to hard-to-believe claims used in testimonials.

Testimonials aren’t the “magic bullet” that they’re sometimes made out to be. If they’re not credible, they can reduce conversions.

If you try to pull the wool over your prospect’s eyes, you get the anxiety flowing and the bounce rate rising.

What you can do about it

Stay honest. Use facts that you can verify. Use testimonials from real people who have used your product. It’s as easy to spot sincerity as it is to spot a fake, and testimonials can really help your conversion rates — so long as they’re straightforward and honest.

Oli is fond of saying, “testyourmonials.” What’s good for one page may not work on another, so be sure to test those testimonials!

4. You’re using a lot of words that mean nothing

One of our friends, copywriter extraordinaire Henneke Duistermaat, has at least 17 words that she’d like to see people stop using on landing pages.

All that marketing gibberish like “state-of-the-art” and “world-class” doesn’t actually mean anything to anyone. Is your product “innovative?” Really? How so?

And woe unto those of you who use the word “leverage” on your landing page copy. Woe, I say! You’ve used a word that doesn’t really mean anything unless you’re selling levers. You know what else you’ve done? You’ve just created a bounce-able level of anxiety.

What you can do about it

You can start explaining what you mean instead of using meaningless buzzwords.

“State-of-the-art” doesn’t mean anything real to anyone. Tell prospects what they want to know: what your product does and how it’ll take away their pain.

Talk about the features and benefits of your product using simple, explanatory words. Describe what you’ve got to your potential customers the way that you would describe them to your grandma. You don’t want your grandma to feel anxious, do you? Good. Make it that easy for everyone.

5. Nobody knows who you are

The simple fact is that, unless you’re a major brand, people may not know who you are. If folks don’t know who you are, they’re unlikely to trust you with their personal details.

Consumers are becoming a lot more savvy. One study showed that almost 75% of respondents paid attention to the URL address in browsers looking for “https” connections. From one of the respondents:

For the payment itself, I always seek some trusted logo and the URL bar logo and the URL address.

About 75% of people look for “https” in browser bars when making a purchase.
Click To Tweet

If you don’t show that you’re running a legit operation, your visitors are not likely to want to hand over their personal information.

What you can do about it

Give your visitors a reason to trust you. People expect to see a privacy statement, terms and conditions, and trust seals that they’re familiar with.

Trust seals are third-party badges that show people that your page is meeting high security standards, such as employing the use of HTTPS  or SSL data security.

Be careful, though – too many trust seals on one page can actually add further anxiety. Be sure to place those seals in a high-visibility spot so that they can be seen.

Not sure exactly where to put it? Start A/B testing until you find the right spot.

How will you reduce landing page anxiety?

Now that you know a little bit more about your potential customers, you’re probably starting to feel a little empathy with them. You know that they have real fears, but you also know that you can alleviate those fears.

Get to know your prospects, their anxieties and what they need from you to convert. Then give it to them.

Anxiety is a massive killer of conversions. By demonstrating your trustworthiness, you reduce the consumer’s perception of risk and allow them to make the purchase they want to make.

What other methods do you use to reduce anxiety on landing pages? Let us know in the comments below!

The Benefits of Installing Solar Panels

Solar panels are special devices that capture sunlight and convert it into usable electricity. Cells from these panels are arranged on a large area for maximum efficiency. As the sun shines on the surface, the lenses capture sunlight and channel for energy.

Reduce energy costs

Although you will have the initial burden of installing solar panels, once you have completed the renovation of most of their expenses you will be terminated. From this point, you will receive free energy due to the sun shining on the surface. This may be an exceptional economy, if you live in an area with abundant sunshine because you can use that energy to power your home heating, refrigeration and other power needs. Many houses are experiencing a savings of about 50 percent of their previous electricity costs, with some even eliminate your electricity bills completely.

Increase Home Value

Solar panels have an easy to use, low maintenance, with exceptional life expectancy. You can anticipate a manufacturer’s warranty of 25-30 years for this. You can also anticipate overall life expectancy of 40 years for this addition to your home. The addition of this technology to your home can greatly increase the value of your home, too. This feature is also a positive point of sale if you are thinking of putting your home on the market at some point in the future. In fact, the addition of a solar power system can increase the resale value of a house by up to $ 6.40 per watt, depending on where you live. It is also common for homes with solar panels to sell 15 percent faster than homes without.

Reducing carbon footprint

The average household in the United States highlights about 7.4 tons of carbon dioxide every year using electrical processes. The emission of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is directly related to global warming. Results of global warming include melting glaciers, coastal erosion, and endangered animals. Using the sun’s energy can also save each year more than 16,000 liters of water. When you rely on the sun for part or all of the electricity needs of your home, you can feel good about the lack of contribution to the extraction and refining of fossil fuels at home. You and your family can reduce their impact on ecosystems and natural forests, which are adversely affected by the current process of extraction of those resources.

Creating Jobs

The solar industry is a variety of jobs, including design, development, manufacture, installation and maintenance of systems. Additional races are also involved in the cultural and political integration of the industry. The installation of this system in your home can support this sector and contribute to the continuing need and creating new jobs.

Solar technology continues to grow as the people involved in its design and development continue to seek this renewable energy option. The features are more accessible and less expensive, so it is a possibility for the owners. Explore your options to see if the solar panels meet your needs.

A company wants to make Melbourne’s trams solar-powered

A company introduced a bold new proposal to the state government of Victoria in Australia, which iconic Melbourne tram network made entirely Solar power in the space of a few years.

According to the court, the public transport network would be managed by the energy produced two new solar farms built near Swan Hill and Mildura, in the northwest of the state. Together, these proposals farms would be able to generate 80 gigawatt hours of electricity per year needed to run the tram network, which is the largest in the world.

According to the Solar Group of Australia – the company behind the offer – if approved, the plan would reduce emissions of 100,000 tons of greenhouse gases per year. Impressive, would also not increase the cost of public transport in the city.

“It was a condition that is given to us as part of the mission that we could not increase the cost of travel,” Dave Holland, co-founder of the Solar Group of Australia, said Sophie Vorrath of RenewEconomy. “We have shaped the history and the future contract price … and [the result of] what has been a driving force behind the project.”

The company has already invested USD $ 3 million in the project, and another US $ 70 million guaranteed to build solar farms, which will happen if the government owned Public Transport Victoria is committed to buying your energy for the next 20 years.

In relative terms, the trams are already a very efficient form of transportation, but the fact that currently require electricity comes from burning coal means they are still responsible for significant emissions.

The alternative to this, the Australian solar panel believes, is two 20 MW solar farm set in 80 ha plots, using 130,000 photovoltaic panels to follow the sun throughout the day.

His proposed Swan Hill site has full approval of the farm to be built, and permissions are in place to Mildura, according to Holland. “The first site is ready to go, we could start work immediately … literally website in the week,” said RenewEconomy. He predicts that construction will take about six months. Once created, the two solar farms could supply power to the network, which offset the energy needs of the tram network.

So what is the probability that the Victorian government get behind the proposal? Tom Arup surplus reported that Transport Minister Terry Mulder sent a letter to the city council in Melbourne last October saying he was interested in the project because it fits with its environmental objectives, but that the proposal be “measured against the availability of lignite and natural gas for many years gave Victoria a relatively cheap source of energy. ”

Fingers crossed that the government sees the long-term cost and environmental benefits of having one of their main transport networks run entirely on solar energy. Because it is the best idea I’ve heard in a long time.

Pakistan Turns Desert Into a Sea of Solar Panels

ISLAMABAD- One of the world’s largest solar plants in Pakistan to provide clean, reliable and help reduce chronic power shortages in the country opened.

The plant, spread over 200 hectares of desert land in the southern Pakistani province of Punjab, which will generate 100 megawatts (MW) in its initial phase and more than 300 MW by the end of the year, according to government officials.

More than a third of Pakistan’s population has no access to electricity, and power shortages are a serious obstacle to economic growth.

Advertising

Inaugurating the plant, Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, said: “Since I am the prime minister, my only goal was to remove the darkness in Pakistan and make the lights back home.”

Mushahidullah Khan, Federal Minister for Climate Change, told the New Climate Network that the government is determined to make use of what he sees as a huge potential for solar energy in the country.

Energy crisis

He said: “The fight against energy crisis is the top priority of this government that we believe is essential for economic growth, reduce poverty, increase agricultural production and industrial water supply, solar energy reduce the country’s carbon footprint. ”

The plant – known as Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park – was built in less than a year by an electrical appliance Tebian Stock Company of China, at a cost of $ 131 million.

“Solar energy is particularly suitable
in remote areas
where it is difficult connectivity to the national network ”

China has forged closer economic ties with Pakistan as part of a plan to connect the Xinjiang region, in western China Pakistani port of Gwadar, on the Arabian Sea. The government in Islamabad said that China will invest more than 30 billion in solar projects and other Pakistan in the coming years.

At present, over 60% of the power in Pakistan is generated from oil and gas, and about 30% of hydropower.

Pakistan is considered one of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region the most vulnerable to climate change.

Irregular flow

In particular, the flow of water in the river Indo-on which millions depend on hydropower and irrigation of crops became increasingly erratic due to the variability of rainfall, melting of glaciers in the Himalayan region Western and impact of widespread deforestation.

Government officials say they are determined to go ahead with the projects more solar and wind energy across the country.

Asjad Imtiaz Ali, president of the Board of Alternative Energy Development in Pakistan, said that the development of solar and other renewable energies has been hampered in the past by the inconsistencies in government policy, and lack of understanding of clean energy.

“Solar power is especially suitable for remote areas where it is difficult connectivity to the national grid, as the Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh,” he said.

As part of the campaign for solar projects, the government recently announced the elimination of import duty on solar panels.

Solar Energy Is Feasible for Prevalent Energy

The debate about solar energy is feasible to produce widespread outbursts of energy and is likely to continue for some time. In today’s time, everyone is aware of solar panels and their ability to provide benefits to the individual owners. As many as 500,000 companies and households in the United States implement change, so it is safe to say that people see the irrefutable benefits of renewable energy. If you are thinking of installing perhaps a solar energy system in your home or your organization, but are hesitant whether it’s worth, here are some reasons why the installation of solar energy that could be interested.

Profitable

Solar energy to save money. When he first came available only to homeowners, which was very expensive to install and pretty useless. But that was ten years ago or more. The price of solar panels has dropped significantly since its introduction in the market. Depending on the type of solar system you choose, maybe you could reduce your electricity bill by half or even completely get rid of the bill.

In fact, some states such as New Jersey and California to promote the use of renewable energy, which means that if you qualify, the electric company will pay you instead of vice versa. Similarly, the value of your home may also increase due to its solar panels. Recent research shows that you can sell your home to 15 percent faster if you have installed solar panels and conventional installation could increase the value of your home for about $ 20,000. This indicates that, even from a financial point of view, there are many advantages of installing solar panels.

Green

The use of solar panels helps to reduce emissions such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and other gases that are harmful to humans and the environment. The use of renewable resources helps prevent global warming, which is having a negative effect on our planet. The more solar energy is used, the lower the air quality will improve and benefit us all. It is believed that if only five percent of households in the United States use of solar energy, to bring 89, 500, 00 pounds of carbon dioxide from the earth.

Reliability

Solar panels work to convert sunlight into energy in your home, and the sun will not go away soon. Even if we assume that the sun does not come out at night from solar panels can store enough energy to the network has access to energy even when the sun does not shine. You need to keep your solar panels free of debris such as dirt, leaves and snow, as this will make your panels are used to full capacity.

As you learn more about solar energy, you will notice that it is hard to believe its significant benefits. You can also visit local businesses if you are unsure of how solar energy can benefit you specifically.

4 Ways Solar Panel Installation Can Benefit Your Home

If you’ve heard a lot about the growing popularity of the installation of solar panels, you may wonder what are the benefits. There are many, to help save the environment to save money on your monthly bills. Learn how this energy source provides many positive benefits in your life.

Free electricity

Best of installing solar panels is that all electricity produced does not cost you a penny. The sun’s energy is completely free, which is an important asset for many people looking to reduce their monthly energy bills. Since this type of installation usually lasts for more than 25 years, you can expect significant savings for as long as you own your home. Does Your Home Deserve Solar Power?

The term “solar energy” is often used these days, but some owners have considered a realistic option. Without estimates, most people assume that the cost of installation would be completely outweigh the potential benefits. While green energy has come a long way since its inception, many people still view this technology as trapped in its infant stage. With its recent progress, however, solar panels are becoming not only an affordable option, but also the most logical step that you can take to save energy in your home.

Rebates and incentives

The federal government and many states are beginning to realize that the country must seriously begin to focus on reducing the carbon footprint of all Americans. If you install a solar energy system that provides some of the energy needs of your home, you may qualify for a tax refund of up to 30 percent of project costs. In most cases, the refund applies to both provincial and federal taxes, doubling the return on your investment. Many utilities also promote reduced energy consumption, offering discounts, rebates and incentives to offset further installation cost for customers that reduce the carbon footprint of their homes. With all these options to offset the initial cost, the initial cost seems minimal compared to the future return on investment.

Reduce energy costs always

You’ve found the home that your family will live forever. The house is paid for, but you still have decades of monthly recurring costs before you. Since you know you will not move again, long-term improvements you make to the house directly benefit the long-term savings. They will also benefit directly to their children when they inherit the house, if they wish to sell or live in it. With solar energy, energy that is drawn from the mains is significantly reduced, minimizing their electricity bills. What was once a major recurring cost of ownership becomes a trivial monthly expense, immediately put money in your pocket.

Location, location, location

Another major concern for many homeowners is to have bulky trash your house and yard black panels. While the main function of solar panels requires absorbing the sun’s energy, technology has become much more customizable. entrepreneurs in energy efficiency provide a free quote and discuss your aesthetic concerns. Moreover, as the solar industry becomes more competitive, more products and services are available, allowing your contractor to tailor a system to your specific needs. Contractors can work with you to maximize system efficiency without sacrificing aesthetics of your home.

If you have never studied the feasibility of improving your home to use solar energy, maybe now is the time to consider it. Talk to a local contractor and make your home and your wallet service to explore the options available. You owe it to your home and family for all necessary information before making a decision.

The Value of Data Velocity in Marketing

Notes from a Speech I’m working on some interesting stuff as it relates to both bigger businesses as well as small businesses. I’m interested in how better use of data could open up a whole big slice of not-yet-tapped economic value for companies (again both bigger and smaller). It’s times like this where I feel bad for people who think I’m the “social media guy.” I’m thinking about velocity as it applies to marketing. Meaning, if we knew something faster, could we add more value and help someone better?

Velocity as a Marketing Tool

I was in Atlanta the other day for 20 hours. During that time, the services that would have been of value to me might have been:

4 Spam-Free Recipes For Nurturing and Converting Leads

This morning I marked three emails as spam and unsubscribed from another two. Then I started to approve a lead nurturing program for our prospects that looked identical to the emails I had just marked as spam…

“The definition of insanity is sending the same spam as other marketers and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein, marketer

As marketers, it’s easy to turn up our nose at other marketers who send thoughtless emails, but we need to stay alert and make sure we’re not being lazy and becoming spammers ourselves. Lead nurturing is like cooking: done right, you delight your audience with the right food delivered at just the right time. Done wrong? Well, it’s spam and eggs.

Spam Food
Spam looks bad for both emails and food. Image by Cookipedia via Flickr.

Like cooking, lead nurturing doesn’t need to be original to be good. If you follow the right recipes and use the best ingredients, you’ll find your leads responding to your emails as though you were a five-star Michelin marketer… instead of that guy who re-heats taco meat at Taco Bell.

Here are four spam-free lead nurturing recipes you can use to send prospects organically down the funnel – toward that precious conversion.

1. Targeted newsletter for blog subscribers

Typically, blog subscribers:

  • Are more interested in the industry or a common problem than in your specific offers.
  • Like to read about relevant content as long as you trigger their curiosity.
  • Don’t have an intent to buy immediately, or at least haven’t shown it yet.
  • Don’t read everything, only what they care about.

The goal of nurturing this kind of prospect is not a sales conversion. Instead, you should aim to become their main source of knowledge around the problem that plagues them. If a prospect can immediately tie a specific issue to your brand (for instance, if they see you as the leader in the PPC space), you’re halfway to converting them.

The best ingredients for a blog subscriber nurturing campaign

  • A newsletter template that you can quickly and easily drop new content into each week (or every two weeks).
  • Epic, original blog content: If your blog covers a wide variety of topics, let readers self-select what content they want to receive (like HubSpot does on their blog). That way, you can serve up fresh, hyper-relevant articles.
HubSpot Blog - Subscribe by Topics
HubSpot allows readers to self-select the blog content that is most relevant to them. In doing so, they are sure to serve up hyper-relevant content that prospects will love.
  • Others’ content on the same topic: Don’t be a narcissist. Only showing your own content is blatant self-promotion. Showing others’ adds value and social proof and reduces the burden of creating more content.

Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) is a venture capital firm who releases a weekly newsletter packed with insights for entrepreneurs.

They’ve done a great job at positioning themselves as a go-to resource for entrepreneurship, rather than just another VC firm.

a16z Newsletter - Easy to Scale
a16z‘s newsletter helps position them as thought leaders in the entrepreneurship space.

The newsletter is one of my favorites because of its scalability in terms of content and topics, and its simplistic design. Remember that your newsletter isn’t a full-course meal, but a snack for prospects when they have five minutes and crave some bite-sized content.

2. Short email course for first-time registrants

There are people on your email list who will have shown a little more commitment than your blog subscribers. I’m talking about first-time registrants for an ebook, a guide or a webinar. Generally, these are people who:

  • Are starting to research a specific problem and a specific tool to solve it.
  • May have read about or used the products offered by your competitors.
  • Only have a slight likelihood to buy immediately, but have shown some interest.

These prospects are likely already familiar with you and your content, as well as that of your competitors. For this reason, it’s important that you demonstrate how what you have to offer is unique — and better.

One way to differentiate yourself at this stage is by focusing on building trust while your competitors are trying to sell something. The end goal is to continue to deliver value and segment leads so you can serve up more relevant content — and eventually, relevant offers.

A simple way to continue to deliver awesome content is with an email course that speaks to your prospect’s specific pain point and educates them about your solution. Your course should cover all that they need to know on your chosen topic, so that they don’t have to look for any other resources. And very importantly, it shouldn’t try to sell anything.

Still building trust with prospects? Teach, don’t sell. You’d trust a teacher before a salesperson.

The best ingredients for an email course nurturing campaign

  • An email to invite subscribers to sign up for the course: Be as specific as possible about what you’ll teach your leads and what they should expect. The more targeted your course is, the more qualified leads you’ll attract.
  • A landing page for people to sign up. Make sure you summarize your lesson topics on the page to flaunt what kind of value you will offer (and pique prospects’ curiosity). For example, check out the landing page for Unbounce’s Seven-Day Lead Gen Landing Page Course:
LEAD-GEN-COURSE-LP
  • A complete guide about the topic, written in the form of daily lessons. While many guides are delivered in PDF form, an email course allows you to deliver smaller, more digestible pieces of content — even for people reading on mobile.
  • An email template for the lessons. Be sure to keep the branding consistent with your registration landing page so that prospects will remember why they’re receiving the emails.
lead-gen-landing-page-course
Welcome email for the Seven-Day Lead Gen Landing Page Course. Notice how the design matches that of the registration landing page?

Keep your daily lessons short so leads can consume the information quickly – thereby getting a ton of value out of it.

Just remember to keep self-promotional speak to a minimum and restrict any product pitch to the very end – the goal of this campaign is to educate people.

As soon as they are aware of your level of expertise and your will to share knowledge, they will become more open to other useful things you introduce, and become a more engaged lead.

3. Customer success stories for recurring registrants

Then there are prospects who have shown persistent interest in you and your content. Recurring registrants are leads who:

  • Have registered for many content pieces and are actively engaged with your brand.
  • Have developed a fair amount of trust in your brand, but also considering other companies.
  • Have not purchased because their company is not ready for your product, or because they haven’t decided.

You know these leads have some special interest in your brand, but something is holding them back: maybe they don’t have the budget, or don’t yet have the approval of their bosses. Maybe the time isn’t right.

They trust you, but they need something to affirm that they need your product.

Don’t wait for these leads find more great information about you. Tell them by sharing customer success stories. Hop on the phone with current customers, add a survey widget to your site or reach out to them via email to find the data you need.

Don’t wait for leads to find more info about you. Show them how great you are with case studies!
Click To Tweet

The best ingredients for a success story campaign

  • Case studies and reports showing trustworthy calculations and industry figures. This’ll help leads who still need to convince bosses and decision-makers.
  • Customer success stories from companies that are similar to your leads’ (in company size or industry), or that face similar problems (the ones that your company solves).
  • A set of emails that you can send out to tell your customer success stories and inspire leads to try your product.
  • An intimate understanding of your leads’ demographic, interests and biggest pain points. The more data you have, the more granular you can get in delivering a case study that fits their persona and truly resonates with them.

Customer success management platform Totango goes as far as organizing an annual customer success summit, which allows their customers to share their own success stories and spread the good word. But if you’re not up for organizing events, sharing stories and data via email is a great start.

For subscribers who are used to receiving information from you, you need to make the leap from sending general content to specific case studies as smooth as possible.

Try framing the case studies as lessons learned from the customer community, with tons of action items. This type of content will help educate recipients and subtly nurture them towards a buying decision.

4. Re-engagement for inactive prospects

Sometimes, your lead nurturing campaigns just don’t work out. You may have someone engaged with your content one minute and disengaged the next. These inactive prospects are people who:

  • Used to be interested in your content but hasn’t engaged with it in the last six months.
  • Signed up for a free trial but then cancelled.
  • Is unqualified and was returned to marketing by your sales team (only to be forgotten).

This type of prospect has proven that they’re interested in what you’ve got; they might just need a gentle nudge toward conversion. This “nudge” could take the form of a promotion or discount offer – something to spruce up your offer and add a tinge of urgency.

The best ingredients for a re-engagement nurturing campaign

  • Good timing: it can be before a holiday, or be a part of your special promotion campaign. Have a look at how Citrix used a holiday as an opportunity to offer a special promotion:
Citrix Email - Discount to re-engage
One of the emails Citrix sent us last year, and an example of hard-to-resist offers.
  • A hard-to-resist offer that will push unsure prospects over the edge to convert.

Also, don’t forget to give these prospects a clear opt out. If they’re not interested in your product after you try to re engage them, then ask them clearly if they would like to remain on your mailing list.

Some people will naturally lose interest, and that’s okay. Some leads just aren’t meant to be.

Give prospects a clear way to opt out. You don’t want to risk them hitting that spam button.

Never lose sight of the goal

The takeaway from all of this?

Every lead nurturing campaign needs a clear target audience and a goal.

Without these, you risk sending irrelevant offers to leads at early stages and losing their interest further down the funnel.

If you don’t yet have a lead nurturing program in place, these four recipes will help you start sending people smoothly down the funnel – toward a happy and long-lasting relationship with you.

Over to you – what are your favorite lead nurturing recipes?
